Went to Sturgis for the first time this year. Just got back in fact. I'd always wanted to go.
I'm used to bike rallies jacking up their prices but jesus christ Sturgis takes the friggin' cake!
It's a joke. I don't understand why people put up with it.
We camped in the Black Hills and the riding was fantastic in and around the hills and Sturgis, but the rally itself is bogus.
I'll never go back, that's for sure, and I hope the price gougers go out of business and die a slow death. Bunch of greedy, avaricious jackasses.

Is it a surprise to anyone that prices are jacked during the Sturgis Rally? I personally don't get the trailered bike crowd either. Sturgis is BIG. Stay away if you don't want to pay the price and quit whining. Ride the Black Hills without the crowds.

Well, it sure stinks of a double standard here. You started a thread about how Sturgis was a ripoff like it's front page news adding your thoughts on it. Then someone else posts their thoughts and you are "FANATICALLY disinterested" in it. Does this mean I'm supposed to give a crap what you think of Sturgis?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The OP joins the crowd of real bikers that hate Sturgis,
We were there for the first time in '14. We spent a lot of money, had some great rides, great concerts, met some great people that we maintained contact with.
Those that think it's a rip off, have you ever gone out of you mother's basement before. Things in events, heck even restaurants everywhere are not cheap. Further, all of the vendors at Sturgis need to pay for their entire infrastructure in one week. You can't do that by charging $3 beers. So, suck it up, enjoy the rally, or don't go back.
Some people just need to **** and moan about everything and need the attention I guess. You can easily go to Sturgis and have a wonderful time and not lose your shirt.

No basements in Florida.

Yeah, if you stay THE HELL AWAY from the rally.
[QUOTE=Bluraven;15432904]The moderator should have moved this thread to the bullshit forum since the subject isn't softail related.
Obviously you have never been to a major sporting event because the same thing happens. Called supply and demand, as another person pointed out obviously tens of thousands are willing to pay the prices so no reason to lower them. I have gone many times and I just avoid the price gouging and have a wonderful time, instead of whining about it and saying I am never going again like a spoiled little brat.
