Default Softail Lower Fairings

Been looking around for options to stop some wind buffeting on my Fatboy Lo. One thing leads to another and stumbled on these guys:

http://www.jtdcycleparts.com/Harley-...Series2-HD.htm

I see Softails and Fatboys as selections.

I haven't seen any hard lower fairings for a softail until I ran into these guys. Anyone had any experience with them?

I have no personal experience with them but I've been looking for the same thing and found a lot of positive feedback on those here on the forum from many older posts. Probably what I'll end up going with myself.

I have contacted a couple different places that said they would modify a touring engine guard to fit my Slim to be able to mount some HD lowers. It might be an option. I would just need to see if it would actually work.

Yea, they are nice but not really looking for leather or a lot of leather embossing.

Try a set of Fangs (wind deflectors), they go on the fork sides and stop just about 80-90% of wind around your face. I like the old version, if you can find them.

I have the HD soft lowers, they are about $90 and fit on the regular HD engine guard. These make a huge difference when riding on the hwy. They still let the air hit the engine too, I have used them in 90* weather with no issues, any hotter then that and you can start noticing the engine getting hotter.

cruising the softail section because I think im going to add a slim to my stable
some time soon so the lowers are something I would be after also

so with that said not sure of size between dyna engine guard and softail engine guard
but as you can see in my sig I have a set of old style ultra lowers on
my bike very minor modification was required and im sure it can be done
to the softail unless the engine guard is that much smaller..

I have a set of these

and a dremel sitting in my garage right now and for the price worth experimenting with

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Not sure which way I'm going to go for a permanent solution. In the interim, think I'll get some fangs and have them PC'd. Seems to be the cheapest and most expedient route.

Slow week at work, put together a $6K upgrade path and budget. The hard fairings are way down the list after the $4K mark which puts it somewhere next fall or spring so plenty of time to finalize a decision.

Thanks again, everyone!
