Looking to possibly mount speakers to an engine guard, has anyone ever tried this and or have pictures of it. will it work at highway speeds of 60- 65. was thinging of mounting a small harley tool bag in the top/middle of the bars where it connects to the frame to hold the wires and amp.
I really like this clean set-up built by scootluver where he used headlight buckets to mount 6.5" Focals and hid the RF PBR300x2 in the tool box. He put a volume controller under the tank. Real sano IMHO. HTH!
What a great idea! With the sub in the headlight bucket, you'd get washed in low bass as you rode!! Hmmm going to look for a 7" sub to replace my Softail headlight now!!
Not sure how much coin you are looking to spend but Uniq Cycle Sound has some pretty nice setups that can be handlebar or engine guard mounted. I ordered (should be here tomorrow)their platinum 600w four speaker system and plan on mounting 2 on the handlebars and 2 on the engine guard. I had the windshield mounted boom audio system but got tired of losing tunes when I removed the windshield on nice days. I have never heard this setup in person but have rode with guys who have the Classic system and was pretty impressed. Harley also just came out an updated handlebar system with bluetooth capability and could also be used the way you have intended.
