Default Considering trading SG for Softail Deluxe

I have a 2012 Streetglide with nice modifications and paid for .
Seems like all I do anymore is short local rides. Wife really doesn't want to ride anymore. Son lost his license for a couple years. My riding Buddy had a stroke 2 years ago and he will never ride again.

Considering trading it in for a Stock 2015 Hard Candy Cancun Flake.
Which, doing Mods is fun but as we all know it is costly.

Should I (Devil) or shouldn't I (Angel)

Having both touring bikes and softails, if I had to have only one it would be the touring bike. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Deluxe, but I don't want to put bags on it to carry stuff, I don't want a passenger seat, I like not having to 'set up' when I get on it (linking bluetooth for radio, plugging in **** to charge, storing stuff in the saddlebags). That being said, when I need to stop whilst out and grab something, the bags on the touring bike are nice, the radio is nice, the fairing breaking the wind rather than my chest is nice. Having the 'extras' on the touring bike all the time is better than not having them at all!

I went from a Road King to a Fat Boy.... I never used the fairing on the RK so it's pretty much the same. I do miss having the bags though. Like hspring03 said, do both if you can.

I already have 2 Bikes, the other being a 94 Sporty.

That's just it, short rides don't require carrying anything.
Seems the only thing I put in there anymore is cell phone and case for glasses.

The only thing I would miss is the music.
I would not miss all the bug guts on the fairing and bags......

Ironically, I leave this evening to pick up a '12 Softail Deluxe in Miami. My intentions are exactly like yours; however, my primary bike remains my '14 Ultra Limited. If I didn't have the luxury of 2 bikes, the Ultra would remain as my 1st choice for it's versatility.

I went from a 13 streetglide to my heritage. I miss having the function of the touring bike. The heritage is close to being paid for so I'll probably buy a 2018 RG or SG when they come out so I can have a town bike and a longer trip/ two up bike. I hate having to put the back rest on, swap seats, etc when the wife goes riding with me so my heritage will get turned into my one up bike.
