Default Stage One (partial) on 2015 Fat Boy

Except for some external accessories (seat, GPS mount, luggage rack and engine guard) my 2015 Fat Boy was stock until last week. At the 5,000 mile service (5050 miles, to be exact) I also had the Screaming Eagle (round style) Air Cleaner installed, with a Stage One software download as required with that accessory. Here are some Quick and Dirty photos of the A/C as installed:

I took the bike for a 90 mile test ride today, on the Freeways and some high-speed back roads around here, i.e. Highway 133 in South County, and Pacific Coast Highway, as well as the South Orange County 405 Freeway (typical early morning speeds at 80+ MPH). These are fun riding spots around here.

I can truly say that I am glad that I did the A/C upgrade. The bike definitely has more zippity do-dah especially at the higher RPMs. It is hard to explain the difference, but essentially the bike is simply ballsier on higher-rpm acceleration and especially at the higher speeds. I really like the difference and I am glad that I did the upgrade.

Next question is whether to get slip-ons or not ...

All a matter of taste, of course. I really like the way this looks on the bike. In particular the logo.

It really wakes up the engine. Frankly, they should just ship them like this.

Just installing a free flowing air cleaner without a free flowing exhaust does absolutely nothing for performance.

That is like saying "I have more water flowing through my 1/2" hose because I put a 2" funnel at the beginning."

This and it's more comfy for you right knee if you happen to have longer legs due to the low profile. Plus it's not as common as the Heavy Breather snorkel

But I agree with Next..... now you should open up your exhaust, too, so your engine can not only breath in but also breath out properly.

A new air cleaner is not a stage 1, sorry.

Stage 1 is opening the airways.. intake AND exhaust.

Nice air cleaner, though.
