Default Anyone have boots on a Night Train?

Thinking about putting these on my bike and was wondering what type to get? This picture is a breakout but this is the idea.

There has been a post about those boots lately in one of the Breakout threads (do some research on the topic here). If I remember correctly it was user LA_Dog who recommended not to use them 'cause they may allow dirt/dust to accumulate underneath which -in the long run- may damage your fork seals...

In the Sportster world, they're called gaiters and they've been
used on 'em for years...

Listen, my first bike was a Triumph in 1968 and it had BOOTS, you whipper-snappers know nothing about old skool! (Just kidding)

They are used to keep dirt and water out of your seals. Plus, they look pretty cool. I'd say go for it. Its your bike only you have to like them.

Let me see if I have this straight, you sifted through 512 pages to help me find post about boots? Dude, you've gone way above and beyond protocol to help me! Haha. Let me ask you another question. This seems to pertain to boots (or gaters, haha) that have been cut? Would it be the same if these were put on properly (without cutting the boot) and clamped at the top and bottom? It seems to work on Triumphs and Sportsters!

Put them on properly or don't bother at all

Lol, there's nothing I would like to do less than spoil your admiration for the efforts I've put in finding this info for ya But actually it only took a quick search and 3 minutes of time

AFAIK LA_Dog was talking about what he experienced with the fork boots he had used on his Breakout. He did not cut them but install them properly.

I guess bottom line is that you can of course use them but it might be a good idea to check on possible dust/dirt and moisture accumulating underneath from time to time....at least in the beginning until you can be sure everything is fine. That's what I would do.

My other bike has an inverted front end and it's dope but I don't care for it on your link because it makes the upper tube look too small on the HD, plus it isn't the old school look I'm going for. Question is: The Night train seems to have very long 'lower tubes' and I'm not sure it they even make a boot that would work? BTW, Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
