I wear a LS2 Valiant Modular. Only it and the Shark Evo-Line are designed to be able to ride with the chin guard locked back to be ridden as a 3/4 or as a Full Face.

Wear a modular full face helmet year around. Gets alittle warm in the hot summer in humid climate of Houston, but during those times it is harder to ride any long distance due to the heat. Type of helmet is a matter of choice. Find what works for your needs. Enjoy the ride.

Didn't use to wear helmets. When I moved to L.A. everyone had to. Good thing. Lane splitting and zoned out drivers made life interesting. Decision to always wear helmets was determined by two things. 1. Professionals always wear helmets. Always. and 2. Buddy of mine spent two years fighting in the sand box and came back 100%. Rode in Arizona for two months, laid down his bike, and and ripped his jaw off. Looked like something out of the Walking Dead. They fixed him up best they could. When he finally could talk again he said "WTF was I thinking?" He said "imagine riding in a car at 60 mph and opening the door and jumping out. That's essentially what I did on my bike. Why am I still alive?"
Yeah, seems cool and free without a helmet. Right up until physics takes over.....
Full-face saved my face many years ago, so I've never worn anything but one. Car ran me off the road, I laid her down and slid 50 feet on my side. When I got up I looked at the side of the helmet where it covers the jaw and it was all scraped to hell. That would've been my pretty face if not for that helmet....So I always wear FF, not even a second thought about it. These days they look pretty bad *** too, I have bluetooth speakers in mine now so I can get calls or tunes (even though I rarely do) ...

Who needs an accident? You know those rocks or debris that crack your windshield - what do you think they'll do to your face or teeth?
If I'm going to wear a helmet, it's going to be full face. I'm not somebody that feels like helmets should be mandatory, but I also don't think it makes sense to wear a helmet that only protects part of your head. I get wearing a half helmet or even a novelty of you just don't like helmets and happen to be riding somewhere with helmet laws, but I don't really see any reason to wear one outside of that.
