I was looking on the HD web site for a detatchable sissy bar for an 07 flstf fatboy but all I could find was the "riders essentials" kit which has a windscreen and a removable sissy bar. Does anybody know if you can buy the removable sissy bar setup just by itself and if so the price and / or part number.
Also if anybody knows of any decent aftermarket ones if they think they are better?
If you look, you may be able to find other styles of sissy bars to fit in those sideplates. The docking kit is sold seperately; you have to look at the chart to determine which one you need.

Yeah, i got the same as above, ^^^ but have to get the relocation kit for the turn signals, got the rack too. It all adds up to hundreds. I got mine sent over from Zanotti's, they discount by 20% or something, .... that made a big difference.
Edit//.... oh, and you may want to get the locks for the detachable sideplates, they are in the "Security section", and are a good idea, hell, if someone nicked it, it all comes off together and is probably the best part of $400 for everything.
Demkay....you are right - I forgot about the turnsignal relocation kit (53959-06).
I didn't bother with the lock for the detachable sideplates. Dealer told me they are a realhassle to get at.

hmmm, i wouldn't be too sure, reason I got mine was cuz the guy told me they were easy to take off, in about 30 secs. Which is in a way good, but in another way bad.
Can't remember what the whole setup cost, but the locks are like $40 with the discount. Good insurance for something like all that in my opinion.
You may wanna check it out, .....you can buy just one lock; and that's i think $20 bucks.
True, someone could take the detachablesissy barvery easily. Butthey could also take my detachable windshield and sidekick seat in about 10 seconds also. that's why I always try and park in a good location and if I stay over night somewhere and have to leave the bike outside I take off the windshield andsissy bar.

Funny. I'd geta room on the first floor and park my bike inside. Seriously, the "detachable" part is convenientfor owners and thiefs.
