Default Seat trial fitting

So tried fitting my new seat, from the top it looks awesome, however, I need a different approach to make it fit

Back to the drawing board!!

It is going to fit!

Top view, nice!

Darn it... another approach needed

Awesome...

Those weights really helped, the vibrations are much reduced in the handle bars. I can see much better towards the rear in my mirrors and numb hands has reduced a lot too!!

Cheap solution!!! YAY!

The seat looks fantastic! From the photos it appears that it is just sitting on top of the two springs. Shouldn't the front two tabs with the holes in them be pushed down until you can run a bolt through that mounting tube? It seems like that would make the seat pitch forward until you put body weight on it and perhaps that is okay. With the rocker swing arm doing it's function is the new seat going to be hitting the rear fender?

These dampers are interesting to me. I would love to reduce the vibrtion and it's affect on my mirrors. When you pounded them into the handlebars do you have to worry about hitting any wires inside the handlebars? The dampers appear to be about 6-7 inches long. Can you tell us how long they actually are?

I tried fitting the rear first and then the front, that didn't work. I couldn't get the spring bent enough to connect to the front bracket. I am now working a a design for a bracket that allows me to fit the seat to the front first and then the back to the springs.

I have a fixed rear fender, I converted it to a Heartland rear fender, which is fixed in place, so it may hit the rear fender if I sit on it and bounce.... will have to see if that is going to happen when I have the seat installed.

I did not measure them but they are the same length as standard grips, so they should not reach to the wiring. I had to shave a little off the rubber bands.

They don't fit with throttle by wire models though.

So the springer/solo seat didn't work out, I got it mounted but the springs were too soft and the riding position became to high. Canned that one!!

But I didn't want to loose the seat engraving so took my Heartland seat off and had it recovered locally.

Pretty good end result, with out the loss of riding position or the looks of the bike!
