Default Clutch Switch

Need some help. I have a 2015 Softail Deluxe that I converted to a hydraulic clutch set up. I used the master cylinder and lever off the 2015 Softail Deluxe CVO. My problem is the clutch safety switch in the left housing. I have tried the original one and the one off the CVO model but both allow the bike to be started in gear without the lever being pulled in and will not start in gear with the lever pulled in. When the lever is pulled the switch is out, I need to find a switch that when not push in will allow the bike to start.

I also just recently converted my 2015 fatboy (doing all internal) from cable to hydraulic clutch and the problem is not the switch but the design of the lever to activate the switch. The cable clutch lever has a notch that when you press the lever activates the switch which allows the bike to be started on gear. The Hydraulic clutch lever does not have this thereby, when you press the lever, there is no notch that depresses the switch to activate the switch hence the bike won't start in gear. I haven't done anything about it just yet but I guess I will have to fabricate a notch on the hydro lever to depress the switch or probably I will not even bother... let's see.

Cable clutch with the notch on the lever

Hydraulic clutch lever without the notch (does not contact with the switch)

I am using the chrome housings off the CVO model and the lever does make contact with the switch but in the opposite manner. When the lever is not pulled in the switch is compressed and when the lever is pulled the switch is extended. I am wondering if there is a switch off another bike that is wired different that could be used.

Oh ok... you need a switch then that functions like the brake light switch. Check ebay i saw some bikers choice brand for about 15 bucks. Our bikes is Canbus though so i don't know if you can just swap the switches and solder it. Good luck!
