Default 2005 FLSTN floorboards question

Trying to find out whether my floorboards are traditional or swept. I'm looking for a heel rest and a constant question is style of floorboards. Any other Deluxe owners your help would be great

They can be swapped out with other Softail floorboards. My wife rides a 2005 Deluxe. She had her bike repainted and some other things done to make it look more "old school". These included white grips and brake pedal pad. She wanted white floorboard inserts. So I got inserts for the boards on my 2002 Fat Boy and installed the boards on her Deluxe. I took the Deluxe boards and put them on the Fat Boy. Mama's happy, so everyone is happy.

I swapped mine out for the half moons which gives me a little more room and more old school. They are SS and can be polished to look like chrome. I also have a brukus boot shield to protect the pipes. They will fit your tappered boards without drilling any holes.

Thanks for the post. Considering half moons myself for my 2002 Fat Boy. Just ordered and extended rear brake lever for my 2001 RK. I'm only 5'8 but cannot stand the placement of that thing. Doesn't allow me to get to the highway peg easily on that side. I think it's also a little unsafe with my foot resting under the brake pedal. I have to swing my foot out, then up and over to cover the brake.

If you change your kickstand to a Heritage one, you can use the longer version of our stock floorboards from HD. They are one inch longer up front and three inches longer out back; this would give you more than enough room to move your feet around or get them flat on the boards. I wear a size 13 shoe and these boards with my extended brake pedal and shifter arms make for plenty of room for my feet.

I put a set on my fatboy to clear the patriot defender exhaust I swapped on. It would ride right against the footboard an I had to use a skinny bolt on the back mount. I don't notice the difference in size myself...before riding season starts I have the brake pedal to install that moves the pedal pad a little forward an down.
