it sucks and is useless. Kinda springy means that if you lean back it has no support. Don't waste your money. Mine is in the garbage.

In the trash it went.
Different strokes for different folks.
I find the little bit of give when I lean back much more comfortable than the "rigid" HD backrest I have on my Ultra.
I too wondered if the seat bolts would hold (along with the general construction), after 20k+ miles it is in like new condition.
I got the one with the pocket for the passenger. Mary uses that pocket extensively (over stuffing it), plus it is used to clip the Gerbing controller on each winter. Again, in like new condition.
So I've read the comments and I'm curious if anyone can offer their thoughts. I have a 2017 Softail Classic...put a reduced reach solo seat (5'2" & 150 lbs). I need a backrest because I've removed the passenger pad and will always ride solo. From looking at the pictures I'm thinking this will actually put the backrest EXACTLY where I need it for a little added support without looking simply retarded PLUS looks like it might be easy to detach as needed. I've e-mailed the company to see if the one for the Deluxe will fit on the Classic because it looks a little less conspicuous. Thoughts?
On a great note I can now reach the kickstand and shifter without any problems
I first used it on my 2006 Heritage and now my 2016 Heritage. It was one of the best mods I made. It mounts on the back seat and so you have plenty of leg room still. It is a very quality product.
Don't know if it will fit the classic, but it was fairly easy on - easy off on my deluxe, just the two bolts.
I also remember I used a dremel to open the slot on the bracket that fits around the grab rail center post a little more to make it easier to put on/remove since I did it often. Didn't have to take off much.
well here it is folks. I am thoroughly impressed with it. it has just the right amound of spring to it and it keeps me upright. no more slouching down. no more using my wife as a back rest. easy on and off. I love it. I like that its super easy on and off . fit and finish is A+ in my book. only thing I did decide to do is remove the leather grab strap. left more room for the seat bolts to thread on. I could've left it alone but the wife never uses it and it provided more threads to grab onto. she got on there and loves it already and we havnt even rode with it yet. pics attatched
I have one. It's a back-saver on long trips. I had it re-covered to match my seat when I had that done up.
Where did you have it redone? I have been looking for a place but no luck yet. I like it but want to have it recovered to match my seat and have it done thinner, if possible. They are only $77 shipped on fleabay and you can return it in 30 days so there is no risk trying it if someone is thinking about it.

I had my seat, passenger seat, front and rear bibs and the backrest all done at the same time by a local guy. He redid the foam on the main seat to suit my particular "profile." It wasn't cheap. But I have no regrets about spending the money. The work is awesome.
just an update on mine, I never ride without it. I love it. I have noticed that sometimes if I lean to much I can use my weight to bend the bracket and its sorta uncomfy. got to remember this isn't like leaning against a wall. every so often I pull it off , lock it in the vise and make some corrections and then back on she goes!
