Default grasshopper backrest

Recently purchased one of these from their e-bay store with studs to match my Heritage. I'm 255 lbs. and I don't think flexing is a problem. Quality is good and I have no problems with the materials used in construction.

I looked at a lot of different backrest at bike nights and other local poker runs and the such. I haven't seen any other backrest in this price range that can compare. Not saying they aren't out there, I just haven't run across one.

I'm not the guy to pay more money than I have to just for a brand name. I think the Grasshopper is a good deal!

I am thinking I may have it tack welded in place to clean it up or drill and tap a hole and use a set screw to position it where I want it, which is not permanent like a tack weld.
for sure will be trying this out. one thing I don't like about it is how it leans against the rear seat and leaves marks on it. for sure will try this out!

If anyone is interested having their Grasshopper modified send me a message, if you like the way mine turned out. Long story short, I have 3 seats now, a Drag Specialties with a backrest and 2 Fat Boy Lo seats I can use the Grasshopper with; one of those seats is also modified with gel. I have been debating which one I want to use and am leaning toward the DS and if I keep it I will sell the 2 other seats and the modified Grasshopper. I plan to try them all out again this weekend and decide for sure.

In regards to the position of the back rest, everyone is different and uses different seats. But if your back rest is too far back and not providing the support you desire there are ways to remedy it.
No. They make a different drivers backrest for two up and solo....at least for my bike.
