I have a 110 CIA Heritage that would burn the bottom of your leg n hot weather. Installed Rush Wrath ceramic exhaust and Thundermax tuner. Cooled it down, nicely. Too bad you have to spend $1500 to make bike right! Good luck.

"Too bad you have to spend $1500 to make bike right! "

that's because of EPA rules mandating AFR's in the mid 14 range instead of around 13.5. Lean is HOT.

Cobalt07 ----Yes, the EPA rules the roost and the "optimized" ratio for total fuel consumption. My former Road Glide had exhaust port temps of about 600 F!! The cat temps resulted in a scar on my leg! Removing the cat from the exhaust did lower the temp thru increase flow, but it was still extremely hot! Thanks for you input!

A good tune alone will not be enough to cool down the Twin Cam to keep it from being too hot for its' own good. Ceramic pipes do not cool down the engine or exhaust...just shield the rider from feeling the too hot bike.

Here is a LINK to a Report on different things you can do to reduce the actual heat.

With the Captain Itch pad, does it leave wear marks on the exhaust or heat shield after a while of rubbing, or does it even touch the exhaust?

It will not leave wear marks on paint or chrome and if it touches the exhaust it will not melt .. If we can answer any more questions Please let us know .. Thank you Itch ..
