Default Heat from exhaust!!! HELP!

Went riding today and the temp was about 86 F. When stopping for stoplights the right side of the Heritage was really hot (muy caliente!!). I found myself putting my right leg on the footboard to avoid the heat! Anyone changed the exhaust and had a significant reduction in the exhaust heat?? If so, what did you do? If you have a thermal sensor would you measure the temp and provide them? I can measure the stock system for comparison.

Thanks for your help!!!

A stage 1 , tuned correctly, will significantly reduce heat. Along with a Captain Itch heat shield, you'll be comfortable.

It's the catalytic mesh in the muffler. I swapped the mufflers with Cycle Shack slip-ons. It's still a hot muffler right where your leg touches the ground though...

I agree with samstone. I had an improper tune on my bike with a stage 1 thanks to a Vance n Hines fuelpak. Ditched that thing for a power vision and proper tune. Cooled my bike down significantly.

Blocks the radiant heat from the rear cylinder exhaust port/pipe and the oil tank that is right by your right thigh...
