Last month I traded my Ultra Limited in for a new Fatboy. I had an 07 Fatboy for a few years before the Ultra and really liked it. My wife however is not thrilled with her pillion and backrest. It got me to thinking is anyone has ever seen a set of arm rests for it. I know Kuryakyn makes them for baggers but how about softails! I was thinking about a swing out style that would mount to the backrest upright. It could even be detachable. Any inventors or machinists out there to make one up?
Coming from an Ultra Limited, you had to realize your wife wouldn't be as comfortable on a Fatboy.
The only one I know of with armrests on a Softail is Silver Fox. He has them on his Deluxe. You can see it in his sig pic. For specifics, I'd send him a PM.

Yes I did know she'd not like it as much as the Ultra> she always said "don't buy it for me". Her long riding days are over as are mine but I just had the thought of an arm rest for her. Thanks for the tip about Silver Fox. I'll check out his signature picture.
Motorcyclereararmrest dot com. Now, they do make them. But, it will be determined by the size of the passenger as to which one to get. I purchased one for the OL and would have been perfect had she weighed 90 lbs. She doesn't, and the one I bought was too narrow for her. She is about 5'6" and weighs about 175. I decided to make my own bracket to widen where the arm pads are and seems to be working great. They do have wider armrests, but not sure I wanted to go that route. If you get a chance to check them out, you will understand what I am talking about. I'm sure you can give them a call and they May be able to discuss that with you if you need. When I get back home, I can measure the distance between the armrest pads on their smaller bracket if you like.
You can also check out tourrest dot com which may suit you better.
