OK - Here it is, for now!

My first shout out is to Captain Itch. Your crotch cooler is the best! I'm loving the design and am absolutely enjoying a "cooler" (as cool as it can get down here) ride that it provides! Why Harley doesn't purchase your patent and set you AND themselves up for life is a total mystery to me!!

Going from my Road King to a Heritage was an obvious choice for me to make. My wife was no longer riding as often with me and I simply wanted something lighter and more nimble to handle. The Road King was almost at 20,000 miles and would have probably needed more than the cursory 20,000 service. Rather than spend the money on servicing an eight year old bike I simply opted to change my "style" of ride with a different new bike. As I posted in a few previous posts, I got a deal that was to good to pass up!

I'm liking the way the Heritage handles. It has a MUCH lower center of gravity that required a moment or two to get used to. While I had no problem handling the King, the Heritage seems to just go where I think. A larger engine and loss of over 200 pounds didn't hurt either! It's a hoot to ride!! I've done the first round of "necessary" changes, shifter adjustment to fit my boots and handle bars adjustment to my body length. I put a windshield bag on to carry all my crap, such as Sunpass, garage door opener, oil rag for when I gas up etc. Other than that I'm thinking of pretty much leaving it stock.

I also concocted a Plexiglas bracket to mount my communities gated entrance sticker. They wouldn't issue a new sticker unless they mounted it to a permanent part of the bike, hence the bracket in front of the license plate. I don't think it detracts from the looks of the bike and I no longer have to wait in line to get into my own community!

Life is good!!

Welcome to the Heritage family.
There's no doubt I'll never get rid of my Heritage.

Someday after the funeral, my 3 Son's will say "who's getting Dad's Heritage?".
Hopefully that will be later than sooner

Congrats, kinda jealous really...can't get the wife to agree just yet on one. If things keep going with her "yes then no" attitude, it may he next year for me.

Congratulations again on the new Heritage. Use it in good health.

You just reminded me to get a new windshield bag. Although I'm in Texas, I don't have a problem with engine or oil bag heat so I don't use a crotch cooler but I have a couple of friends that have them.

I will agree that Larry and Isabel make high quality products.

Jeffery, I hate to blow your high, but the Heritage is like 725 lbs. and your RK eight years ago was around 790 with no fluids. The 88 inch RKs used to be 735 if I remember correctly, then everything got bigger and heavier and heavier and heavier.....

I went from a Heritage to an RK back to a Heritage. Weight aside, Jeff is 100% correct. The ST just seems like a smaller, nimbler bike..
