I just purchased the Badlander seat Part #52461-00A for my 01 Deuce. I also purchased the FXSTD seat bracket part # 52097-00 to attach the end of the seat to the fender. The bolt is about 3/4' away from lining up with the hole in the fender. Did the dealership sell me the wrong bracket?
I think that I have it fugured out now. I spoke to a friend of mine and he says that there is a part missing from my rear fender. I bought the bike second hand and switched the solo seat for the two up Badlander. I am going to the shop today and purchase a quick release kit and attach it to the fender and this will sove my problem. Thanks for thr reply Crazy Canuck.
Here is the before. When the weather clears up in NJ I will post the pic with the new seat and some of the other mods that I did while it rained for 8 days.
Nice Deuce man. Like that chrome swingarm and the big radius.
I wish I could figure out how to post some pics as well but I'm
having problems with the web site that I need to upload my pics.
Anyhow, may I sugjest that you lower the rear about an inch and
a half. I did it to mine and the bike looks like it's flying when it's
standing still.
CC, sounds like a good idea on the lowering. Thanks for the kudos on my bike. A lot of TLC went into it to get it to sparkle again. More Chrome on the way. The rear wheel and front will get the show chrome treatment next. Also all stainless hoses for the fuel line, crossover tube, breather and rear brake are next. I was also thinking hot toppers for all of the bolts. I have some on the brake calipers, and some other places on the bike. I like they way that they hide the bolts. The V&H pipes are killer. Nice sound to them too. Been on a couple of ride over the last couple of weeks. The bike gets lots of attention.
