Default 2003 Heritage Softail won't start

hello HD-Riders and Mechanics. I have big problems with my fuel system and hope somebody can help:
After changing fuel filter and hoses bike will not start anymore. (cranking yes)
I am missing the squealing / wining sound from the fuel pump when igniting and switch to run. Fuses are all perfect. Any idea where the problem might be ? Thanks in advance ... Robby

Fuel injected I'm guessing? Or carbed. If carbed turn the gas on. Injected how did you replace the filter in the tank?

Fuelinjected. ... opened tank and removed the whole system. First it worked and suddenly no more.

Check fuses. Should be a fuel pump fuse.

I checked the fuse and noticed that there is no power in the particular fuse socket. Also checked fuel pump manually and is workin' what would you do next ?

Power is only provided to the fuel pump for the first few seconds after the ignition is turned on via the system relay and then stopped until the bike is cranked and the ECM senses compression from the CKP sensor so if you want to check for power do it during those first few seconds after ignition/runswitch on.
Check the pin terminals inside the connector at the fuel tank that the fuel pump block connector plugs into, it's easy to bend one accidentally.
Also, on the underside of the fuel pump cover plate is the other side of this connector and that can also become dislodged during assembly, make sure it's secure.

Dear j_bee, first of all I must tell you how happy and grateful I am that you wrote to me. My baby is running !!!
It was the pin terminals inside the connector at the fuel tank that the fuel pump block connector plugs into. One of them was bent.
Sending you lots of happiness from Germany and always have a good ride.

BEST WISHES

Robby

hello J_bee ... sorry to bother you again. she was running fine for the past few days but today she died on me with the following symptoms:
it was as thow she was running out of gas, backfired and just didn't get anymore fuel. after bringing her home on a trailer I started her with no problems but died again after a few seconds. Tank is 3/4 full. I can hear the fuel pump but it is not the wealing sound as before. Maybe a hint
can you give me an idea what problem this is and how to solve it.
Is there anyone out there who had same trouble ?

Thanks Robby
