I have a 2015 Heritage Classic with the Stage V Tire Shredder kit, dyno shows 108 HP and 114 torque.
Overlooking the sanity aspect, I like to go really fast on the highway occasionally. I can get to 110 pretty easy but in 6th gear acceleration really slows down from 110 to 115 and crawls after that at about 4350 rpm. I only had time/highway to get to about 117.
Does that sound right?
Any helpful suggestions for increasing top speed?
I was really expecting a higher top speed as my 1987 FXST will peg the speedometer pretty quick.
I don't know the ratios in the HD transmission but back when I ran 5.0's they reached their top speed in 4th not 5th...the OD hurt performance...you can try a pull in 5th instead of 6th...if you're in to that...my steering feels too light at high speeds, a small windscreen helps with making the front end feel planted...be ware of death wobble! don't know if it's an issue on softails or not but I wouldn't go triple digit speeds myself.
