I'll bite: I need new tires real soon and am shopping for a pair of Michelin Commander 2s, which provide a longer life than most other tires. I do not ride as much as I used to and rarely in the rain so there are lots of options for me but I have experience with Michelin on sports cars so I trust their tires.
I don't hate the stock Dunlops but it's just becasue it's all I know on this bike.
Years back I had stock Dunlops on my cbr600rr and thought they were fine, then I got Michelin power pilot 2CTs and it was such an insane difference.
I'll look hard at Michelin again when my tires need replacement. Obviously on a cruiser you're not leaning at 45 degrees and carving the pavement at 140mph, but that tackiness must help even at our speeds.
There are a number of variables to consider but based on how I ride and maintain my tires, out of the 3 brands that I've tried, I got the best results from MC 2's. They might not be the best for everybody but they did the job for me.
