All this means is that lots of good used bike will be flooding the market for the next 3 to 4 years .
That is for sure. My guess is that we will all look back and realize that the best deals ever to be had were on the 2017 models in the summer of 2017. No doubt a lot of the fellows will be selling one or two-year-old bikes in order to get the M8 engine. That will mean more good deals.
This will be a huge step forward for the softail line. Especially the S models with the 114 inch M8. Waiting to see what frame and or suspension changes? If significant, a 2018 Heritage S would be really appealing.
Let's hope Harley will put Dual Disc Brakes on all their bikes as well as LED headlights and turn signals - we paid premium price now give us what we paid for !!!
If not then my bike will be the last harley i will ever buy from HD.
they are motorcycles, people place to high of a value on Things. and when they come out the Big secret will be out and everyone who wants one can trade in their 17 for an 18. then life will go on as it did the day before and the day before that.
The left side signal light and the high beam light on the dash have stopped working 4 times and has been replaced/fixed (not sure that I know what the problem is exactly). This happens when I either ride in torrential rain or wash the bike and forget to cover the console. Saturday I washed the bike and forgot, Sunday I can't see if the left signal is on. 5 times!! Clearly this is an issue that nobody can fix as soon as it gets a soaking it goes out. I need to call the dealer to add it to next week's service list.
The headlight housing blew, replaced under warranty.
Master cylinder was replaced because the break light would not go off and I could not use cruise.
Engine failure at 25,000 miles. On a road trip in Daytona when I heard a godawful noise, stopped and had the bike towed. Lifters and cams had gone south. Bike out of commission for 7 weeks while waiting for a new engine.
Meanwhile, paint started to chip off the console around the screw. Waiting on Rossmeyers to send a replacement after admitting they overtightened the screw (ok this is not a technical issue but I am still pissed).
Not to mention it needs a new rear tire every 5k and a front every 7-8k. Too expensive in my book.
I have no love for this bike. It has spent numerous weeks in the service bays. I'm not kidding it has sorely tempted me to look at Indian.
So other than those few minor issues, you've had good luck with the bike???
