reading this thread would lead one to beleive the m8 might actulally migrate to other HD model lines sooner, rather than later.
Surely, most of us would love that. But even if it were gonna happen, I doubt any would know.
Such was the case when they introduced the M8

What issues have you had with it?

Can't really prove its vastly superior. But there is a noticeably better acceleration of the stock engine and way more torque compared to my 103 breakout. Overall at rpms I would feel stronger on my 103, I simple don't on my 107. Feels like a lot more to work with throughout the gears.

The left side signal light and the high beam light on the dash have stopped working 4 times and has been replaced/fixed (not sure that I know what the problem is exactly). This happens when I either ride in torrential rain or wash the bike and forget to cover the console. Saturday I washed the bike and forgot, Sunday I can't see if the left signal is on. 5 times!! Clearly this is an issue that nobody can fix as soon as it gets a soaking it goes out. I need to call the dealer to add it to next week's service list.

The headlight housing blew, replaced under warranty.

Master cylinder was replaced because the break light would not go off and I could not use cruise.

Engine failure at 25,000 miles. On a road trip in Daytona when I heard a godawful noise, stopped and had the bike towed. Lifters and cams had gone south. Bike out of commission for 7 weeks while waiting for a new engine.

Meanwhile, paint started to chip off the console around the screw. Waiting on Rossmeyers to send a replacement after admitting they overtightened the screw (ok this is not a technical issue but I am still pissed).

Not to mention it needs a new rear tire every 5k and a front every 7-8k. Too expensive in my book.

I have no love for this bike. It has spent numerous weeks in the service bays. I'm not kidding it has sorely tempted me to look at Indian.

The other side to this equation is I own a wet head 107 and a 103HO.. I prefer the 103..

They have had a few years to get a Frame ready for the M8, Just redo the Engine cradle,
Don't Believe the dealer, they want you to buy the 2017's.

I just bought my FLSS, so obviously (maybe not obvious), I'm not looking at purchasing a Softail with the M8, BUT I did consider the option or possibility.

I'm very happy with the performance of my 110. I took an extended "Test Ride" before purchasing and the 110 performed better than expected. Better than the 103 in my '08 Crossbones by a wide margin.

And yeah, I didn't test ride any bike with the M8, but again, I was happy with the performance of the 110 and don't feel IF there is any added torque or hp with the M8 its going to make any difference to me...

I also heard (not from any "in the know" source", so this is pure speculation on their part), they won't be making the Slim S next year... So kinda cool to have something that was built for a limited time...

Looks like M8s and 110s in the Softail lines are now definite. See the Calif EPA thread.
