I have been hearing a lot of folks talk about new dunlop elites. I was just about to put an Avon cobra 150 16 on the rear of the slim. Will the American elite be a higher mileage tire than the cobra? Want to go with a biger tire than the narrow tire that's on it now. Not real worried about performance since the lean angle on a slim is almost nill.

Not sure on any others bike but I am satisfied with the American Elite / Dunlop on my 2008 Harley Fatboy. I got a little over 11,000 on the rear (200), and am still going with 14,000 on the front. I expect to get another 1500 miles on the front. I probably ride a lot slower than most and that may impact the mileage on the tires.

I put an American Elite on the front when the stock tire wore out and I'm still running it with nearly 19k on it. It's developing a crown in the center and I've hit the wear bars, but it's still in relatively good shape. That being said, I ordered a new one to have on standby when I'm ready to change it out. The first photo shows the tire when new, the second shows it today with 19K on it.

As for the rear, I put on an AE3 when I replaced the stock rear and I got 15k out of it. I've been impressed with the mileage and performance of the Dunlop American Elites, I never expected them to last this long.
