I'm hoping there's a few of you on here that have found a good performance shop in Alberta. I reside outside of Edmonton but I'm having a helluva time finding a performance shop that can do a 107 upgrade for me with full dyno tuning after the fact. I'm impressed with the numbers I have seen from Fuel Moto's engine builds and I've asked a few shops around here but either they don't know, they've never done one or they just don't care about the business.
So, have any of you done a good reliable 107 upgrade in Alberta and if so.... who did you use?
I'm north of you and if you appreciate a good road trip there is a shop I use in Nanaimo, did my 107 and tuned it perfectly. That's if your wife will let you haha!
I understand about time constraints for travelling but I've been spoiled by having a few perfectly tuned builds, ain't nothing like it eh. Did you try Holeshot Engine works near Camrose, or Back Alley in Warburg? A pretty good head porter resides in Warburg as well, my brother and I both having used his heads over the years.
Lol.... my wifey has never been one to tell me what I'm allowed to buy. I guess I was lucky, not sure.
I wish we had a place like Fuel Moto around here with some dyno-proven packages a guy could look at before pulling the trigger. I talked to a fella at Welches in Edmonton the other day and it was $6,000 for a mixnmatch of parts and no proven dyno sheets to back anything he said. That was using my own cylinders and heads. Pretty high compared to what Fuel Moto does for $2100 installed.... even with the exchange rate.
Good for the wifey you have! I have spent a pile of money searching for the combo I wanted, and that you appear to be looking for, and eventually found the Holy Grail. I'm here to help you save money for only a small fee, haw, but the Nanaimo shop I mentioned is a Fuel Moto dealer howevér there are viable alternatives.
Are you startin with good pipes, cams, anything?

Whoaaa..... if that Nanaimo dude has installed and tuned those 107 Fuel Moto kits then I am very interested. I called those boys down in Wisconsin and they said they didn't have any distributors/approved installers in Canada. I was told I had to ride down there which I just don't have time for. Nanaimo on the other hand would make for a very nice trip..... especially if they have been working with Fuel Moto's hardware and can dyno-tune. I have a very minimum start to the 107 build. I've got the Powervision and a set of pipes that I want to keep on the bike (I've got a heavy breather set up as well but it will be useless with the larger throttle body). They are the V&H 2into1 Big Radius. I know this will hurt me for around 5-6 HP but I'm not a fan of those long 2into1 pipes. I wanted to go with the 777 cams, their level B heads and a 50mm throttle body. Should be enough to get my numbers over 100hp/110tq..... hopefully.
If I don't like it, I can always throw one of those other pipes on later and bump my numbers up. I'm sure it'll be enough to make me happy though. This thing is just way to slow right now as it is.
Fuel Moto's kits might be good but keep an open mind as those numbers you want are low for a good 107. The gent I refer to is a world class tuner, very well respected and has customers from the western US of Eh and Canada. The 107 he did for me 4 years ago is still running perfectly and good highway fuel economy.

Tommy, what's the dudes name and what shop does he work at? I'll look them up. My exhaust is going to be what holds me back on making my full power potential and I'm okay with that. I am choosing aesthetics over horsepower in the exhaust department. I will likely be sacrificing 5-8 hp and likely 10 ft.lbs of torque but I'm okay with that.

Tommy! Been awhile! I ended up building a 124" for my bike but I'm bored with it. What is the name of that shop in Nanaimo you had mentioned. I think I want to have them upgrade and tune my engine. I'm not sold on the shop that did my 124" in Edmonton. Oh..... and I went with a new D&D exhaust over the V&H the bike had. Lol
