Default Soft bag removal...

Scratching my head...

Trying to remove soft bags from my 2012 FLSTC to install a sissybar, and am stumped! Assumed I'd just remove nuts and washers from inside bags and slip off, but these things aren't budging! What am I overlooking?

Thanks! Been riding for 50 years, but my first HD...loving it!

Did you look for the lower bracket that attaches to the passenger foot peg?

I did, but there is a bag guard that leaves no room for much movement of the attachment bar. Maybe have to remove the guard?

What "bag guard" are you referring to?

To remove the saddlebag from a Heritage, there are two nuts inside the bag and one nut for the lower mounting bracket by the passenger footrest.

Of course, the saddlebag guard.

If you remove the nut holding the saddlebag mounting bracket to the saddlebag guard, the two nuts holding the saddlebags to the fender rail and pull on the saddlebags to remove them, what happens?

The left stud can be (with GREAT pressure!) pulled through the hole, but the right one is tighter than dick's hatband. Afraid to force it for fear of tearing the leather or bunging up the fender guard. The bottom brace (when the nut/bolt is removed) is also super tight and doesn't want to give any slack. Sorry for the long post...just super frustrating for what appears to be a simple process!
