For those with the PC III, what is the deal with the o2 eliminators? Why would a person want to use these os eliminators? Logic states that Id want to use the o2's to help monitor whats going on in there! How does the PCIII know what its fuel ratio is?
You'll get info from both sides of the Pipes-tuner-AC camps. Most peoplejust go ahead and do them all at the same time for performance and reliability concerns.Others believe its not required If you just change the pipes or go to slip ons.I am like you, limited budget so i haveto weigh my decisions carefully I have cycle shack slip ons on my 07 FXSTC and there is no popping - hard starting or any other problems. I had them on my Street Bob with the same results. If the dealer told you that if you installedPipes on your bike and you need stage 1 air cleaner and a tuner...hes lying to you. Your not changing the amount of air coming in.Sounds like hes just trying to get more money out of you.If you just change the pipes/slip-ons Youll probably want tocheck your plugs every once in awhilethis summer to ensure its not running too lean.If it is youll definatly want to stage 1 AC and tuner it.I didnt want powerjust was looking for a better sound so Slip ons were my choice.I ran them in the Texas Blast Furnace Summerlast year and The Street Bob never ran too lean , I was impressed.Takes maybe 45 Mins to Install Slip-ons. Good Luck on your decision !
You need no fuel management system with the big radius pipes. My friend at www.thunderbirdmc.com put them on my 07 Fat Boy with no mods and they are fine.A buddy of mine with an 03 Fattyhas no fuel management. I am trying the Fuel Pak but I think it ran better without it. I put 1000 miles on my bike with the big radius pipes on and the spark plugs were fine. Don't listen to the dealership. I don't buy that stage 1 download crap. Unless you are looking for performance don't bother with the Sert or PCIII either. Don't waste your money on slip ons either. You will just get pipes when you are bummed out by the noise anyway. pm me if you have any questions.
I just ordered the rush 2.00". I am picking the bike up next wednesday hopefully! I plan on installing them myself. Thanks for all the advice! Anything I should know before I try to put these on?? Any tips would be great.
look for something with the style of the big radius....i love them, but everyone has them....i dunno.....i have them, but i just see them on 8 out of 10 softails these days it seems....
