Maybe thinking of going with a 2018 heritage. Took a test ride and loved it. This is the first one they got in and I noticed it has 80 miles on it guessing with all the test rides. Now they take you on a specified route with back roads and a short stint on the highway and always supervised. Think this would be detrimental to the engine for breaking in or really no big deal?
It's a peace of mind thing. Personally I don't think it's a big deal to the motor, but if you will wonder about it maybe it's worth it to just go with a fresh one....your money so you might as well get what makes you feel best about it.
If you can sleep well at night, in reality these things are Dynoed before leaving the factory and there's a lot of support for more aggressive break-in...if it rode well for you it's likely ok. Maybe they'll knock a bit off the price versus getting you a factory mikes only new one for MSRP...
I once bought a new bike with 55 miles on it and had engine problems with it. Maybe a coincidence but I notice I run the demo bikes kinda hard even in a controlled ride. I bet others do as well. I'd wait on a new one.

I second that. Why pay msrp for a bike with miles. You deserve a brand new bike.
You know there are jackasses that open up a bike on a test ride to see what it will do. Sometimes they even post on this forum about it. For that reason alone, I would not buy a test bike unless I was getting a big discount and / or an extended warranty or some kind of more complete warranty coverage.

i'd guess the average test ride is 2 miles , with 80 miles on it that's a lot of people you don't know who've ridden your bike . compare that to how many people you'll let ride your bike after you buy it .

Plus how the bike is ridden early in it's life is more critical and can be more detrimental than going wide open at fifty thousand miles.
