The one that came off the Heritage had a metal base with the double sided tape fitted in. It looked like it restricted how far down it would sit in the tank. Strange indeed.

Prot - I never gave that a thought, I think the problem with the New bags is the depth? I like the way they function but the pipe arrangement seems to have the rear cylinder pipe up higher than on the Twin cam version & that's the storage issue.

I thought man the aftermarket will fix this - BUT..... the fix is clear in that you will need a different pipe arrangement & then that will give the symmetry for both sides - How much do I spend on that? I literally have like 3 heritage versions in the saved builds section of the HD site - 2 in twisted cherry 1) at $21873 - & 2) $22,218 the 3rd option is with the 107 motor & its at just under 20k

those numbers put me at thinking RK or Road glide? then watch - buy the 18 touring model with the 107 & the 19 model year they`ll put the 114 in them.....Dam, I need a drink!!!

You do realize they have 114 kits for the 107 with the only difference being factory installed vs dealer installed, plus the higher cost of going that way.

I understand what you mean about the cost though. When bikes were in the $12K to $15K range, that left more to customize. Now, an ordinary bike is as high as what CVO's used to be.

Outfitting a Deluxe like that drives the price to around the $25K mark.

All things in consideration, the Heritage is the best value although it is higher than it used to be. On the other hand a Slim and a Low Rider are five thousand dollars cheaper, and they weigh less. Neither one is great two up on a cross country trip though.

The touring bikes get you a six gallon tank. The one thing that I find is a nuisance on my old Heritage is the range. I could use about one more gallon of gas.

Everything is going up though. Food, cars, etc. The new Jeep Wrangler coming out soon will be around $50K for the fully loaded one.

Or, you could buy a an Evo in good shape for $3,500 to $5,500 and have tons of cash leftover to make it your own. Damn things will run forever and will tell you what is wrong if you listen to them.

Default Heritage Gas Cap Misaligned

Saw a silver 107 at the local dealer. I do not even think the Heritage gas caps are countersunk or put in an indentation, they are simply double sided taped to the paint.
This one when i stood up (Straddling the bike) and looked down at the caps you could see the left one was a quarter to a half inch closer to the windshield.
I rode one a loved the ride and power, but why bother with fake crap like this. I pushed on the cap and you could tell it would come off pretty easily

Shame, really

Not a basher i have a Milwaukee Eight 2017 Ultra Limited, and love it, leaps ahead of my 2013 limited.

But was looking for an around town bike, and am considering a Triumph T120 instead of a Street Bob, Heritage or such

Yeah, those new bags don't hold as much as mine.
They should have dropped the exh & put something like their CVO bags
or the RoadKing Custom bags.

Was @ the dealership Saturday.
A guy took off on a test ride . . . It was the Streetbob.
It sounded like two Honda trail 90's taking off.
Then the throttle by wire failed and he idled back

Don't think he was a buyer that day!!!

Or you could simply add the Hold Fast tour pack to the Heritage and have all the capacity you need. The Hold Fast collection is an updated version of the quick detach system.

Not on the Heritage - adjustment is under the seat & requires a tool.

Yes, and then use the right kind of double-stick tape. Sounds like they’re using the cheap stuff. The good stuff would never come off. Maybe they don’t want that since you’d cause damage if you tried. But a gas cap rolling down the highway causes damage too.

Love how my ‘18 feels and rides. I want just a bit more noise and feel over stock, but it doesn’t need much, so Stage II is coming soon. If only those back-ordered pushrods would show up.

I've never ridden a evo bike but after buying a twin cam recently I'm lusting after a carbed evo bike with a big cam just to hear the lope at idle.
