'18 Heritage 114 Softail-Mfg Date ?????
How do I tell the build date from my VIN????
Brought my new Heritage Softail 114 home yesterday afternoon. Boy oh Boy, this thing has Torque by the bucket loads
Left the dealer about 2:00 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. Was expecting some rain later that evening.
The gratuitous picking up the bike shot.. :icon10:
Last shot of Big Bertha II at the Dealer just before handing the title over. BB II was absolutely the best motorcycle I have ever had from the standpoint of shear comfort, effortless smooth as Glass 90 MPH cruising easiest to maintain and to live with and the bucket loads of pure soul that I have ever had. The weight was its downfall when stopping and I did not want to ever drop it.
A few shots after the ride home. The new bike has 121 miles. The handling, the suspension and the ABS brakes are as modern and as excellent as any new motorcycle regardless of the brand. The lower center of Gravity and lighter weight as compared to my just traded '14 Road King is a game changer for this type of Motorcycle.
114 cubic inch torque monster. Pulls like a freight train. I have only had it to 4 K RPM, the torque is so much fun, the fueling seems perfect. Opening the throttle is a total blast especially in the higher gears, hard to describe.
At home snugly tucked away in her comfortable garage.
One of the things I really like about the bike is that is totally elemental, or as much as any modern bike can be.

Way cool, just found the Mfg date, 10/17. They told me that it was on the way from HD when I placed dibs on it.
On the Road King, loved my '14, but found that it was getting too heavy when stopped. I have been a BMW rider since '72 and never even thought about its weight when stopped, still have a R1200GS plus have one of their upcoming 310GS's on order. No such thing as too many bikes.
