I think the tach/ Speedo combinations are a great way to add a tach, I read where they are a direct plug in on 07's but it does not say whether the clock feature remains funtional after the swap. Can someone shed some light on this for me and also have these units been proven to be as realiable as the original speedo unit?

If you do a search you'll find that its been gone over before.
Yes they are a plug in. Butyou do loose the clock function.

RE: Speedo/ Tach combo
I've had mine on the bike for 6 months and ~3000 miles. Plug and play installation, perfect function, no clock. Regarding the loss of the clock, I don't see this as a big deal between the watch and cellphone I carry. On a bike, I'll take a tach over a clock every time.
I've been contemplating getting the Speedo/Tach combo also, as I would like to have a tach, but man do they want a bunch of $$$ for the unit.
I understand that you loose the clock function (big deal - who cares about time when you're enjoying the ride!) but what about the two trip odometer functions? Does it still have those?
