Wow Hammer - that speedo/tach combo looks great. I haven't seen that one before. What's the part number on it?
To both Hammer and XTrooper (and anyone else that has one), how do you like the speedo/tach combo? Are both gages easy to see while zipping along? What's your recommendations on this? Get the combo gage, or a separate handlebar mounted tach?
I was also thinkin about getting one of these combos, but now I have deceided to go with the new Dakota Digital gauge. Totally plug and play for the 07s and retains all stock lights such as sixth gear light. Also the Dakota Digital gauge will give you 1/4mile times and 0-60 times. All this and the just plain cool look of the digital for the same price as the HD twin needle gauge. Just my .02 cents but more cool features for the same price gets my vote.
I ordered one like Hammer 2 - its the brushed alluminum look... I may be the minority but I like the clock function. need to know how fast to ride to work if I am running late So I actually use the clock function. and both Trip Meters. Trip A is for miles per gallon. Trip B is for trip mileage. I just didnt want to mess with programming the aftermarket one and also wanted an HD one because it was plug and play.
I hope it has the 6th gear indicator. I ordered the one for the 2007 softail. Two places to check are Chicago HD (they offer for 20% off) and Zanotti HD (where it was less). Its just the shipping and I pay Tax that adds up
Anyone install this themselves? any tips from Hammer 2 or XTrooper ? on the install. How do you remove the OEM speedo?
