Hey guys and girls! Im doin a service on my 04 super glide sport and Ive dumped the gear oil but when I started to refill it, it overflowed! Ive only put 500ml (17 fl oz) in and it should take at least another 200ml (7 fl oz)
also I thought maybe there might be a blockage so I took the drain pulg out to see if any oil had made it to the bottom of the pan and no oil came out
HELP!!!
Update, I found that I hadnt emptied the gear oil which was why the oil was over flowing, I dumped it and replaced it now thats all good how ever, I thought the grub screw on the base of the engine was the dump plug for the engine oil and I originally took that out, everyone keeps sayin that if you undo that bolt its big problems but I cant find out why?? Its a 04 super glide sport with an 88 cube motor

It's not that you WILL have big problems, it's that you can. That screw is tapered, tighten it too much & it can crack the case like screwing a wedge into the hole.
Did someone mention getting a manual?
