Anyone know if the sub $100 Harbor Freight motorcycle jack will work with the new Softails? Specifically the Lowrider.. Thanks
And don't rule out the Larin MAL-2C jack for about $160. Swing out floor stabilizers, comes with straps, and 2.5" at lowest setting. My "14 Heritage sits at about 4.5" from bottom of frame to the floor on the jiffy stand side. I'm pretty happy with it.
I have been using that one from HF for 10 years now. It works on my '16 Breakout with no problem. Just look under your bike and if anything important sits below the frame rails then don't use it.
Same here they work well for the money haven’t used mine a couple of years since i got there bike lift. Harbor Freight’s stuff is good for guys starting out wouldn’t buy the stuff if your a professional just wouldn’t last long.
I bought the jack and used it on both my 2016 Heritage, and my wife's 2016 SuperLow. Now "super low" is right, though. I had to roll the bike up on a couple of laid-down two by fours before I could get the jack under it, but that wasn't a big deal, really.
I didn't even strap the bikes down to the jack while I had them up in the air. For the wife's, I was putting forward controls on (both sides, of course), and had zero problem with it. Was greatness.
To summarize, if it feels like you can't get the jack under the bike, just roll the wheels up on some 2x4's and you'll be good.
Thanks guys. I bought the HF jack this morning. Didn't want to buy it if someone had tried it on the '18s and it didn't work. I know there was some trouble getting it to work on the Dynas. I'll report back once I get it home in a few hours.
