Turn the risers around 180 degrees and re-install the bars.

you could try some LA Choppers riser extensions, they move the bars and risers back (or forward) 1" or 2" depending on the kit you buy.

I changed the risers on my Heritage for the same reason. Worked great and no problem using stock cables.
