I am currently riding my 2011 Heritage Softail having sold my 2016 Road Glide to buy a car, However I am currently being drawn in to swapping it for a Springer. I have the choice of either a 2000 Red Heritage Springer 88" stage 1 30k (fully serviced with the cam chain tensioners replaced) with all the chrome extras and tassle's one could wish for..... or...... I could have a 2005 Heritage Springer in black with 7k on it and its had a 1550 kit, htd grips and that's about it, no bags no screen or other extras. Sure I could get some bags (at a premium) and some other bits I want, but then again I could spend the same money on engine work on the 2000 model!! At present I am leaning slightly towards the 2000 Red Springer as I can tour pretty much straight away and can do engine mods in winter
for me it boils down to whether I like the Chrome Springer or the black Springer front end the best. the rest of the stuff can be changed kind of easily. me I go with the 2000 get the Chrome Springer.

I had to go look in the shop... thought you took MY springer home....
To the OP...
The Springer front end is obviously the special feature of any Springer model. I think it is more obvious and looks better when chrome.... I vote you get the 2000
