Default '18 Heritage handle bar change - advice

Hi there
I want to change the 'bars on my '18 heritage to a set of Fatreach and also install some heated grips

I have the 'bars, grips, new risers and two wiring looms.

Has anyone done this who could give me some tips please?

Cheers

Nigel

Thanks for the reply

I take it you had to remove the left and right instrument clusters?

Did you have to take the tank off?

Did you fit heated grips.?

I can’t help much, I took the easy way and am having the dealer install mine.

FLHCS, vivid black, and my first Harley!!

I just wanted a 1.25” bar with less pull back. I went with the Harley mini ape, true 12” bar.

I’m worried it will be too tall but I guess I will see. (6ft tall)

I went with heated grips as well. The dealer said they have to notch the control housings to run the wires internally with the others.

I also am having them do the 90 degree brake line in a length and finish that will match the slack of the clutch cable.

Do you have a link to the bar you went with?

Can you post some pics of those bars when you get them? Thanks.

1.) Do you mean remove the left and right handlebar switches? Yes, they get removed to be installed on the new bars.

2.) For my bike, the tank did not need to be touched. Handlebar wiring is routed into a rubber boot that houses a a cluster of all the plugs you need to gain access to.

3.) Nope. Just regular grips on mine, but heated grips is just a matter of some extra wiring.
