Default Charging system

I have 88 Softail FXSTC on the charging system, shows 15v while running is that ok? Battery is new. I was told over 12v is good.

I believe mine runs in the 16 v range on a 2016.. I’m not sure exactly what a 1988 should run, but 13-15 seems right.
You should be able to google that info easy enough.

Most of the electrical components will operate satisfactorily with a voltage between 12 and 15.8 volts DC.
