Harley still sells it but you have to buy all the parts separate. Just installed it on my Deluxe. Here is the parts list.

That low profile dash has been discontinued for years.

It can be still purchased.
You just need to order the parts individually.

Does anyone know why this won't fit the later models? Is it the gas tank or the frame that prevents it from fitting?

To make it fit newer models you will need to modify the wiring.
It can and has been done. I think there is a thread on it.
