Here's mine after being out in the sun about an hour. Pretty much makes the LED unreadable. Bike has never been in the rain or washed. It's a Low Rider, the tach is fine, just the speedo.

That's pretty much what mine looks like, but it clears up in a few hours, particularly if you're riding. All it takes is a few humid days to make that happen..
Haven't heard any complaints so far. But see the new bikes have the same crappy brake reservoir design that other Harley's have and quite a few end up leaking from the top cover. God knows why they don't go the Japanese route and fit round reservoirs with screw on tops.

That is almost exactly as mine does. This is seeming to be less about moisture infiltration and more about something going on inside the speedometer.
Wonder why one of the many instrument aftermarket manufacturers hasn't jumped on this problem and made a direct replacement instrument module.
Maybe even a more easy to read all digital unit.
I think they would do a bang up business.
Checked mine while setting in the garage (it's been at rest without starting for a couple days) and there is a bit of residue that stays inside the lens. The outline of the residue seems to correspond to the pattern formed by the digital panel inside the lens. Not sure what the residue is, but it act like "water and water vapor" while running in the sunny and hot weather. Dealer did tell me they are beginning to see a number of these on the new Softails.
Well, my wife's 2018 Fat Bob's speedometer has started to show water and water vapor...the dealer now has speedo's on order for both of our 2018 Softails and says the replacements will most likely do the same thing. The dealer says the problem is not unique to the new Softails and that they have replaced more speedo's in the late model (2017 and up) Harley's than previous model years. I plan to get the new speedo's and see what happens, and hope that H-D gets the problem addressed.
The speedo on my '09 Nightster has done that a few times. Each time it's cleared up after a few hours on the road. Never thought much of it. Certainly wouldn't stress about it and try to replace it.

That looks like mine also. I have a 2018 FXLR and live in a humid climate.
2018 Heritage Classic...I had my speedo replaced under warranty a few months ago for condensation behind the glass. The new one lasted a whole week before the condensation appeared in it. This seems to be a very common problem with late model Harley's, especially here in Florida where the humidity is high, and I have little faith that they will correct their design flaw. I'm told that Dakota Digital speedos don't get the condensation, but the dealer I called said they don't have a model for my 2018 yet. Anybody know of another aftermarket brand of speedo that keeps the condensation out?
Just as my 2018 FLCHS does, my 2016 Street Bob condenses in the same area of the speedo. Different speedo, different size, so the pattern is not exactly the same, but close enough.
