got problems with my 2006 flstn electrical system,i ordered a Clymer but it says FLS/FXS/FXC softail models - but when I bought it off ebay it shows 2006-2010 flstn, anyone ever use this book,i don't want to start digging threw it until I make sure I can use it.or i'll
just send it back.trying to locate a short on her.thank's
Yes I've used thst clymer manual in the past...to wipe my was. That's about all they're worth really. If it's your bike and you intend on doing any work on it buy yourself the real factory service manual and there's an electrical diagnosis manual too...yes they're a little pricey but they'll pay for themselves the first time you don't bring the bike the dealer...sorry I couldn't help with your actual problem.
Clymers are like the dumbed down cliff notes version of the real manual, all depends on what wish to do to your bike. General upkeep and minor repairs they are ok, any real in depth stuff you want the factory book.

It's of no matter now if you sent it back, but that is the Clymer book for your model. I have one along with the factory HD version. I mostly use the HD but will refer to the Clymer book on occasion.

+1 here--
I can't render an opinion on the OP's question whether or not they have the right manual, but I for one think the Clymer manual is OK for the price.
Sure it's not as detailed as the Harley service manual but for most "backyard" bike mechanics it has most if not all of the information one would need.
Like "fitz" I had both manuals and typically turned to my HD service manual but the Clymer was useful for a secondary resource.
I ended up however passing my Clymer manual over to my Son when he picked up a '10 Heritage.
I would keep the Clymer manual and keep an eye open for a used HD service manual.

Clymer, like other "over the counter" (Chiltons, Haynes etc..) maintenance manuals tend to get you into trouble, but don't tell you how to get out, if you catch my drift. It's like giving you a dozen or so pages on how to take something apart and then at the end telling you reassembly is the reverse of the above. Every bike I have ever owned I always purchased the original H-D service manual for it.

I have removed two posts and sent PMs to the offenders.
HD doesn't sell their service manuals in PDF format. Those sold on the net are illegal pirated copies. We don't allow discussion or distribution of illegal materials on HD Forums. Doing so is grounds for removal. This is just a warning!
