Default ANOTHER Softail Rear Shock Question

1st . . . Sorry !!
I'm sure this one's been asked & answered.

I got a decent deal on a set of low mileage OE Rr shocks for my 03
on ebay. I have not recv'd them yet. They appear to have the adjustable
kits for height. I wanna say it's the Progv Kit.
If I crank them all the way in, it should put it back to stock riding height?
So, it should ride just like stock (I'm hoping)
In fact they JUST got here.

No extension kits have longer threaded ends that increase the overall length of the shock pushing the rear suspension "up" lowering the bike. To restore original suspension the threaded extensions must be removed. This require a press to compress the shock spring to get access to the extensions.

From what I've seen, the Progressive extensions should have enough thread at the base to get you close to stock ride height and action. That is how my PS shocks work. It gives you enough room to go from near stock height to almost 2" lower.

So, what is the actual difference between the stock Softail shocks
and the "Profile" Harley lowering shocks ?

The HD low profile shocks have additional room to lower the bike approximately 3/4", which HD states is their max for lowering the bike.

Lack of room in there doesn't help much.

I got em off though. I remembered how I did my 00.
Backed the rear wheel onto a 2X6. Couple a' good whacks.
But then the jacks rght in the way . . . WAAAA!!!!!

Now it rides good.
