07 Night Train 1K with minor upgrades (still have stock equipment to replace upgrades). Looking into trading for a Night Rod Special. I know I will take a hit, but I just thought maybe someone has had a similar dealing on here and can tell me how big of a hit is reasonable?
id just walk into the dealership and bend over this nightrod.....make them pull your pants down..make em do a little of thework. besides that i dig the night rods too!!!!
Why not ask the dealer....we don't matter. Nobody will admit to you the truth of the ream job the dealer gave them anyways and besides all dealers are different. You might hit them on the right day.
Thanks for the responses, not what I wanted to hear but what I expected! I guess I just needed to hear this from others to talk me out of letting them rape me!
Thanks again,
Troy
If the bank holds your title, Its hard to sell the bike outright. I traded in an 03 1200c to buy my 05 NT. I maybe made $500 over what I owed which wasn't too bad I guess. You really will take a hard hit on a trade in. If you do own it outright, definitly sell it privately. Good luck on your decision.
My experience was interesting. In 03 I bought a new Anniversary Edition FXDL Low Rider. I rode the bike for 8 months and put 6,000 miles on it. I paid $24K out the door for that bike with all the chrome and added accesories. While I had the bike in for service, (same dealer), Isaw, and had to have, the 03 Anniversary Edition FLSTCI, Heritage. I grabbed the same salesperson that sold me the Low Rider and told him that I wanted the Heritage, what kind of deal could they give me on a trade in.To say the least, I was shocked at their offer. They offered me all of $16K for the Low Rider! That was an $8K hitfor 8 months of use! I promptly told them to stuff it, paid cash for the Heritage and sold the Low Rider outright. I sold the Low Rider for $22K to a private party. If you want to get your money's worth, don't trade, sell it yourself.
