First, I've had lots of bikes over 40+ years< Sportys, Shovels, a Pan, 09 FLTR and various Jap and other dirt and street, but this is my first Softail.
So far it a mostly stock 17 Slim that I want to put forward controls on.
So why does Harley say on their website that the 33909-08A FL Softail Forward Control Kit doesn't fit?
Any other black forward controls that fit but don't cost $800+?
Thanks

Yeah, you'd think that if it fits the Deluxe, Fatboy, and Heritage, it work on the Slim too.
Basically, I have no idea why it wouldn't work. Perhaps the front exhaust pipe is different ?
The HD 33909-08A forward control kit DOES fit. I can attest to that as I personally changed my 2017 Slim to forwards. The kit was plug and play. You do need to reuse some factory bolts and pay attention to the shifter spacer and rubber o-rings. I don't think they were explained at all in the instructions.
In my opinion, the forward controls are much more comfortable, look better, and provide a better lean angle.

Ya, from what I looked at I really couldn't see anything that would keep it from working, and pipes are getting changed as well, but I figured I'd ask before I got 'em and found out some H-D secret F.U.
Thanks
