Default Cobra slip-on

just bought a new set of cobra RPT Slip-Ons and the service manual shows a muffler gasket but when I took off the stock muffler there was no gaskets and no where in the cobra instructions does it show gaskets when I went to Harley to pick them up they didn’t have them in stock so they ordered them. Do I need gaskets to install Slip-Ons?

I have a ‘17 Slim. Your pic shows a pre-‘18 Slim, so this probably applies...

I didn’t put RPTs on my bike, but I did put Cobra 3” Slash Cut Slip Ons on it. Nowhere in my Softail owners manual does it say that muffler gaskets are needed, nor did the Cobra install instructions.

Now, gaskets are used on the mufflers for M8 Softails. I know this because I also have an ‘18 Deluxe. I put OEM SE SC slip on mufflers on that bike: both the manual and the muffler say that the muffler gaskets are needed.

Thanks for the info as I looked more at the service manual it said to put the gaskets only for foreign models so I don’t think I need them
