Default Looking for steps to remove fork tins 07 Heritage Softail

I just bought an 07 Heritage Classic. The forks have a small leak. Never having owned a Harley nor working on one before, I need to rebuild the forks. I've rebuilt Showa forks before, so that's not a problem, but I would like to know how to remove the forks, in particular, the front fork cover tins. Anyone know of a detailed step by step post or video showing how to do this, that describes how to do each step? Thanks.

Go to RonniesHD. Type in .year, select model, scroll down to frame. Ronnies has exploded views of all components. Might help you see how things are attached.

I'm with the OP on this one. I looked in my service manual and couldn't find any real instruction on how to remove the tins/covers. I need to get in there myself to replace the riser bushings..

I imagine the Headlight and Spotlights need to come off as well.

You will have to remove each fork from the bike, then disassemble to change the seals. Its actually fairly easy. A factory service manual helps, but the are some pretty good Utube vids to guide you through it also. Be a good time to drop in some Progressive Mono Tubes.
