Oil cooler?
Bluerose feels more heat because she's running true duals like I am. That means that left exhaust pipe is running a full cylinder of exhaust and not 35-50% like it was originally with a crossover tube. Look at her pic and see how the pipe is right under her seat/left leg. It definitely cooks the leg when you're sitting at a light for any length of time.

Looking fora stock seat to try having the seat redone again without the gel pad. Not sure if they can fix the issues I have now without a fresh start on a new seat.

i just installed a oil cooler on my 07 FXSTC and i could not be happier. were i ride it is about 80 degs and we ride about 70 mhp steady. at about 250degs to 240 degs.today i put it to the test. it was 80 degs (i know not very hot) but i ran it hard. ran it through the gears and got the rpms up there. sat in traffic the hole nine years. and the hottest i got was 210. right after running 60 mph or so. i am going to keep a eye on it fot a wile to see what it does. i put this on becouse of sturgis and i dont want to bake the motor even thought i am rebuilding it when i get back for a 103. if anyone has any questions about the cooler i used or anything for that matter just let me know.

I actaully get burned on the inner thigh on long runns in hot weather (85 and up) ....I could just be on the freeway for for a few hundred miles. Last year I went 1000 miles over 8 days and it got very bad the second to last day. It was a build up of consistant heat.
Did it burn your leg before you installed those pipes? They just look way to close to where your leg is.They also sit right next to your oil bag wich has got to be raising the oil temp.
I have a 2007 FLSTC and installed an HD oil cooler on it the day I brought it home from the dealer. I also installed a Thundermax Auto Tuner, K&N 3909, and Rush slip ons. My oil temp runs between 210-220 degrees on the highway. After an hour or so at speeds above 55-65 mph, if I find myself in stop and go traffic my oil temp can shoot up to 230-250 degrees. Riding in the South Florida heat can be brutal at times. I have seen claims made on this board by owners of theTwin Cam 96B engine, that once they installed an oil cooler, their oil temps never get above 210 degrees in traffic! I find that very hard to believe, especiallywhen outside temperatures are in the 85-90 degree range.The oil cooler will help you stay cooler when you are at highway speeds, but find yourself stuck in traffic and all bets are off.

If there is a heat issue with the 07 models why isn't HD installing oil coolers straight from the factory. Why do I need to spend more money to fix?

1. They make more money that way.
2. There are enough diehards who won't buy because they think an oil cooler is ugly that it will affect sales.
