I added Fangs to my Deluxe this past weekend and I will say it definitely cut down on the buffeting, I still get some air but not the full up the nose blast like I was getting, I felt the engine heat on my thighs a lot more and the wife really complained that the heat on her shins was almost unbearable for her, Probably feel great on a cold ride but may have to remove them in the summer, not sure if one of those Capt Itch heat protectors would fix it for her or not, anyone have close to the same experience??
The fangs work well. I have a set on my 2010 FatBoy Lo. You may have to notch/file them a little if your windscreen bracket interferes with proper fit up. No big deal to do this though. They allow you to enjoy a smoke below 55 MPH. They cut out the wind that curls from the front of the tank that blasts against your chest, flipping your grey beard up and out. Not a 100% solution cause you'll still have some transient buffeting but 80-85% better than without. It also helps if you fabricate a downturn deflector fitted to the bottom of your nacel to curl the air that normally goes through your forks and blasts on the front of the tank. Helps with that plus aids in directing road speed air air down in to your front cylinder cooling fins. These steps work great for me.
I run em.
They really stand out looks wide (good or bad ?)
But after a short while, ya don't even notice em
Just more chrome right?
The stupid things work.
I have removed them when it's REAL hot.
But it SUCKS w/o em. Sunglasses dancin' on my nose etc.
The way Harley has that windshield mounted it tilts slightly fwd (Can't Adj)
So that pushes air down. The fangs defl that out.
I've had older Harley's with the windshield tilted back. NO problems.
(Look at a ROADKING windshield) I'll bet an RK wouldn't need them.
Even the Deluxe windshield (with that horseshoe shaped bracket) tilts
back.
LXT, couldn't agree more... the recurve itself reduced the buffeting roughly 45/50% then add the fork wind deflectors (fangs) and you will see a 85/90%... Just order the wind baffle, will modify to fit...
Got the fangs and the Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. Absolutely love em!
Bluraven bought mine mine after about 800 miles worth of riding. We had the Sena 20s and the buffeting was horrible. Fangs solved it.
