First bike and first winter storage Questions
Engine oil to be changed before storage or change it first thing before riding season.
What is the gas level when it says full tank to prevent water condensation , just to the top of tank neck or what ,some say 3/4 of a tank, then add fuel stabilizer ( Stabil ) run it for five minutes done.
Should it be on the concrete floor non heated garage , or on the wooden planks, or in the air on a jack. Temps fall to Min -5 to -20 Max here.
Battery tender on 24 /7 for five months (Dec -April).
No starting for few mts in these cold months .
This is what I do
I change the oil in the spring
yes battery tender and no starting
full tank of gas and when I fill up I add the appropriate amount of Seafoam and ride it home to get it through the system
Not on concrete. if on the floor I put a piece of remnant linoleum flooring down and carpet remnants under the tires.
Change oil before putting away, full tank, put it on a trickle charger, put it on a stand if you like cover it up, and don't start in the winter. I just do the same, except put it in the trailer outside. Keep it simple.
Before storage;I change the motor oil, clean and wax bike, bike on battery tender, top off gas tank with a fuel stabilizer, check tire pressure, cover her up with a breathable m/c cover and place a desiccant product under the bike. I do not start the bike until spring.
Use Stabil 360 or StarTron in the Gas. It has extra Stuff to fight Corrosion from the Ethanol in the Gas. I'm in N/E Indiana, same prep but if it's Sunny & 20° I'm out on the Bike!
When I lived up north, I would put StaBil in the tank, ride to the gas station and fill it up, park it in a corner of the garage with a sheet over it.
Connected a battery tender every couple of weeks, and disconnect it as soon as green light comes on. I don`t leave any type of battery charger plugged in (I don`t trust them, that`s just me).

I put Stabil 360 in the tank, ride it and fill up the tank, check air in tires, park it on a rug in the barn, plug in a battery tender, cover it up and change oil in the spring.
I also don't start it until spring.
