Tuner Beware!
Sure, Im the one that tuned the bike, buck stops with me, but hell, a bike comes in, has a lope that no stock Harley has and a R&B Racing 2-1 exhaust hanging off the side. Any ****ing rookie tech would know its been tuned with something. Just to make another point, I wouldnt have turned this bike over to any service department without giving them a heads up, Again, my mistake, I brought the bike in on the Service Managers day off, the guy I gave the heads up too.
Im done with this crap, Im going to keep building them as I always have. If this post helps anyone, great, if not, sorry I wasted your time..Rich
I was fully aware of the warranty issue, not flagging my Vin with the EPA.
I guess I better stay off my bike and spend more time on here.
I traded this bike in on a new Heritage and the dealer is sending this bike out to auction.
And screw Harley Davidson, Im going to build this Heritage as I have every bike Ive ever built.
My one mistake was bring that bike back to the dealer in the first place, I should have paid for the speedo and installed it myself. I even ordered the ****ing thing.
Lesson learned, water under the bridge.....
I have no idea if HD actually informs the EPA, I seriously doubt it. What my dealer made clear to me is that in the future, this might create a problem registering this bike in California. Ive lived here my whole life, I wouldnt put it past them!
And for what its worth, I trust my dealer, I have maintained a great relationship for over thirty years...
Sorry, but I do not have much sympathy for you. You only have yourself to blame. The dealership was following the rules it was required to follow. Not doing so would cost them $$$$. You can be pissed at HD all you want but if you want to point blame look in the mirror.
So how's that relationship now? Did they at least offer to use KY?

I need to decide how Im going to tune my new Heritage. Ill be running the same set up, Woods 22X cam, R&B 2-1 exhaust and a SE Heavy Breather intake. I can tune it as I have all my bikes in the past and pray it never has to go back to the dealership, or put out money for Harleys tuner, which I dont see working for my set up without being dynod.
Help this idiot make a decision, thanks.....

Here's what you need to know about the Screamin' Eagle Pro Street tuner module: It has access to the downloadable list of tunes from Harley-Davidson. 100% of those tunes are only for Harley-Davidson and Screamin' Eagle parts. There are zero tunes for aftermarket parts. So, you can choose one from the list that most closely approximates your parts. Which won't be very close. Will the bike run? Yes. Will it run as well as it could with a proper tune? No.
Second, the Street Tuner does allow some very small, basically inconsequential adjustments to the downloaded tune.
No matter what tune you download, and no matter what small adjustments you make, you will not get your money's worth of performance out of an excellent aftermarket cam and a 2-1 exhaust.
My recommendation? Use either a TTS or a PowerVision full-featured tuner module, whichever one your dyno tech of choice recommends.

Im going to stick with my Power Vision, and the great team at FuelMoto, they have been providing me support for over twenty years without as much as a hiccup..
